Q: The original Dave's was not on Chicago. WAY back in the day, it was on the south side of church street just west of the el tracks
A: Close, but wrong street, It was on Davis between the el and Metra tracks, sort of a hole in the wall. Popular with students because it was very inexpensive in 1970s with BYOB.

Everything tastes homemade. This is some of the best Italian I have ever had. Love the Caesar salad dressing, the Pumpkin Bisque, and the Eggplant Parmesan with Rose sauce. And the Chocolate Mousse is pretty good, too! And for the price, it is on point. Love this place.
