Marathon weekend at a glance

The Abbott Chicago 5K kicks things off Saturday, October 10. The 48th Bank of America Chicago Marathon follows on Sunday, October 11, starting and finishing in Grant Park and winding through 29 Chicago neighborhoods. Tens of thousands of runners, and just as many people cheering for them.

If you want to send good luck

Send it for Saturday, October 10, so it's waiting the night before the race. Bloom Floral Shop Chicago delivers on Saturdays, and orders placed by 12pm are delivered by 5pm. A short card does the work: "You've trained for this. Go get it."

If you want to say congratulations

Choose the delivery date at checkout that fits when your runner will be home and back on their feet. A few card lines that land well:

• "26.2 miles. So proud of you."
• "You did it. Now sit down."
• "Every mile of training was worth it."

If your runner is in town for the race

Plenty of runners fly in. Flowers can go straight to their hotel, so there's something warm waiting when they check in or get back from the finish. Add the hotel name, your runner's name, and the delivery date at checkout. See our hotel flower delivery in Chicago page.

Along the course

The route runs through neighborhoods we deliver to every day, including River North, Old Town, Lincoln Park, the West Loop, and Pilsen. If your runner lives in one of them, same day flower delivery in Chicago puts a surprise at their door the day it matters.

What to send

Bright, cheerful arrangements in a vase are easy to set down and enjoy, and most of our arrangements run $85–$125, with deluxe and premium tiers for a bigger gesture. Browse our fall flowers to find the one that fits. And if there's a second occasion on your list, Sweetest Day is the following Saturday, October 17.
